Welcome to the Collective International Film Festival or CIFF. We here at the CIFF are proud to announce this first annual event, our goal is to create awareness, and encourage diversity by bringing people together to work on a common goal.

Filmmakers can win up to $1,500 and 17 other cash prizes are up for grabs. Our categories reflect our goals, mirroring what we stand by: Living in poverty pushes filmmakers to think out of the box about an issue that is so often put in the dark, and prodded with opinion. We aim to put a floodlight on poverty, with a globe at its center. Identity narratives are the best way to help feel how constricting and different slipping on someone else’s shoes truly is. This is the key to diversity, you never feel closer to someone else after you not only hear, but see their story. “Fear me not, I mean well,” allows contestants to find a common ground on grim issues while being playful and creating awareness for the issue of their choice. Registration and submission begins May 14, 2016 and goes until January 31, 2017.

Every Year around the end of the Festival we will bring all the contestants together. The Filmmakers Convention serves as a way for filmmakers to meet each other, mingle, and talk about engaging in projects together. There is no better way to build a bridge than bringing people together. Conversing, sharing ideas, forging a commitment to a labor of passion, side by side, hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder. In the words of Mahatma Gandhi “You must be the change you wish to see in the world,” sign up today.

We will be giving a total of 18 prizes and one grand prize. 1st is $500, 2nd is $300, 3rd is $150, per age group and category. The best out of all six first place winner will receive an additional $1,000. We may have additional prizes from sponsors for those who did not win, and a certificate for all those who apply.

All events will be announced by January 31, 2017.
